About Us

CEC is structured as an “incubator” of equity. We identify immediate equity-focused needs, generate ideas to address them, assemble key stakeholders and partners, and get to work creating solutions. Our projects are developed with the intention of transitioning them at the appropriate time to a partner with the expertise and infrastructure to sustain and scale them long-term. Our work and its impact then move forward through our partners and, if done right, through real systems change.

CEC focuses on:

Launching ground-level initiatives, programs and campaigns that address immediate, critical and local issues
Developing content and resources that educate about equity-related issues and advocate for specific action and change
Building bridges and connecting people to optimize the impact of our collective work
Providing consultation and support to strengthen the efforts and impact of our partners
Amplifying essential voices by collaborating with those typically underrepresented and with the lived experience to advance equity in authentic and meaningful ways

Recent Work

Rainbow Kids is an initiative developed by Community Equity Collaborative (CEC) to increase awareness and knowledge about topics related to SOGIE in early childhood among parents, caregivers and educators and to provide practical and age-appropriate resources, strategies and tools to engage and support young children as they explore who they are and who is in their world.

In support of these goals, Rainbow Kids offers a webinar, an online resources library and awareness-building materials.
